Our Team
At Planted to Bloom, collaboration is one of our core values—and something we do exceptionally well. A philosophy we have always operated from is “better together.” From the start of our internship, we connected deeply despite being in different graduate programs. It was clear early on when meeting that we connected in a different way than with the other interns on staff.. We quickly discovered we shared similar values, goals, and worldviews - we were way more alike than we were different. Our bond grew stronger through yoga teacher training and working closely on internship coordination. Over time, our friendship evolved into a shared dream: starting a practice together. As John Maxwell said, “Teamwork makes the dream work”—a sentiment we live by as we lead our practice with respect, gratitude, and passion for the counseling profession and one another.
“The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team. ”

Alana McCraw
LPC, RYT
“When you can’t look on the bright side, I will sit with you in the dark.”
Alana has a passion for working with teens, adults, and families. She enjoys supporting anyone who is suffering from an eating disorder; this might include working through body image issues, exercise addiction, and overall developing a different relationship to one’s self that includes an improved sense of self-esteem and ability. If necessary, that could also mean working to support that client’s family during their recovery journey. This work might include tools such as Mindfulness Training and Somatic Experiencing in addition to traditional talk therapy. Alana also supports individuals struggling with the mental and emotional burdens created by challenging conditions such as chronic pain and autoimmune concerns by incorporating Somatic Experiencing while working alongside a client’s other providers on their treatment team. It is important to Alana to be a resource, therapist, and cheerleader to individuals who are navigating the difficulties that come with life transitions, identity development, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Regarding families, Alana is excited to support family members learn how to better listen and understand one another with the guidance of Non-violent Communication (NVC) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFC).
Amber Ambriz
LPC, RYT, SEP
“Knowing that we can be loved exactly as we are gives us all the best opportunity for growing into the healthiest of people.”
Amber works with adolescents and adults, especially those individuals struggling with body image issues and eating disorders. Additionally, she works with stress-management, anxiety, panic attacks, anger, life transitions, spiritual identity and other identity development wonderings. She helps her clients tackle multiracial and multicultural challenges, pre- and peri-natal trauma, overall trauma and chronic pain and uses Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, expressive arts, mindfulness, psychotherapeutic yoga, ACT and DBT to help facilitate change. She thrives when working with people who feel stuck, uncertain, and frozen in life.
Amber’s role as your counselor is not to give you the answers, but to help you gain insight and reach your own conclusions of what works best for you as a unique individual. While specific goals will be determined by you as the client, the general goals of the services that she provides are to facilitate positive change, personal development, and overall well-being. Knowing all of this, if you are willing to take the chance on her, she looks forward to beginning this therapeutic journey with you.
When Amber is not working as a therapist, she enjoys being outside and exploring the DFW area. She likes to stay active - loves playing soccer or doing her own personal yoga practice. She is a new mom and loves being able to snuggle with her son; she has 5 nieces and loves connecting with them as often as possible. She also appreciates being able to bake and cook new recipes; color or draw new pictures; unwinding on the couch with some TV and her cat, Cleo; and traveling when she can with her husband.
